Cooking Groups

Cooking Groups

The Cooking Groups focus on developing everyday life skills, building independence and provide an opportunity to practise social skills.

In our Cooking Groups, the children and teens are hands-on in the kitchen to plan, prepare and make a variety of recipes. Our Cooking Groups are developed by our occupational therapists and speech pathologists and run by our therapists or therapy assistants.

Benefits of Little Learners:

  • develop fine motor skills (eg. cutting, grating)
  • build independence to make a snack or simple meal
  • understand cooking vocabulary
  • follow a recipe
  • increase awareness of kitchen and food safety
  • build friendships and work as a team

NDIS funding can be used for the groups.
